The pair Sophie Turner Joe Jonas, who have been together since 2016, both shared the news on Instagram with the same picture of a diamond ring.
Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in fantasy TV drama Game of Thrones, posted the photo with the caption “I said yes”.
Jonas’s brother Nick, who was also in American pop band The Jonas Brothers, tweeted his congratulations.
He said: “Ahh! Congratulations to my brother… and sister in law to be on your engagement. I love you both so much.”
Jonas, 28, and Turner, 21, began dating last year and have since traveled to London together to meet her parents and spent Thanksgiving with the Jonas clan at the California skiing destination Mammoth Mountain.
“You do feel like you’re living in a fishbowl,” Turner recently told Marie Claire of her public relationship with Jonas. “It’s frustrating [that] it’s the most mundane things that make the news — how boring! There are really no other headlines?”
The Jonas Brothers were formed in 2005 and gained fame after appearances on the Disney Channel. The band was made up of the three brothers Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas.
The three-piece broke up in 2013 and Joe Jonas is currently the lead singer for US dance-rock band DNCE.

Amazon’s Great Indian Festival Sale is back again and is scheduled to start from today and go on until October 17. There are loads of products available at a discount during the sale, and as always we’ve some of the best tech deals here so let’s get started:
Bharti Airtel has recently announced plans to partner with various smartphone manufacturers to offer 4G smartphones bundled with data and calling services at the price of feature phones. Airtel has launched the Karbonn A40 Indian, an entry-level 4G VoLTE handset aimed to counter the popularity of the JioPhone, a 4G feature phone from Reliance Jio available at an effective price of Rs 0 and a refundable security deposit of Rs 1,500.
So how do the two phones compare? Here is a quick look:
4G, VoLTE support
Both JioPhone and Karbonn A40 Indian support LTE Band 3, Band 5 and LTE-TDD Band 40 and will further push the adoption of 4G networks in the country. Jio has over 130 million subscribers on its 4G only network while Bharti Airtel reportedly has nearly 281.25 million subscribers. The Karbonn A40 Indian is also capable of supporting VoLTE networks, which Airtel is rolling out in a phased manner. The JioPhone also supports VoLTE, the only standard supported by Reliance Jio. Karbonn A40 Indian supports 2G and 3G networks as well.
Smartphone vs Smart Feature Phone
The JioPhone is a Feature Phone with smart functionalities like voice assistant and support for apps like JioCinema, JioMusic, and JioTV. The Karbonn A40 Indian is a true smartphone powered by Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. Most importantly, the JioPhone does not offer WhatsApp support, while the A40 Indian does.
Price, Tariff and Minimum Recharge
The JioPhone is priced at Rs 1,500 with a guaranteed refund of the entire amount after three years on returning the device back to Reliance Jio. The Karbonn A40 Indian is priced at Rs 2,899 and offers a refund of Rs 1,500, bringing the effective price down to Rs 1,399. However, both JioPhone and Karbonn A40 Indian come with terms and conditions where users need to make minimum recharges to get the refund. The refund on the JioPhone will be given only in case of a return, while the Airtel Karbonn A40 Indian does not need to be returned to get the Rs 1,500 cashback.
In the case of JioPhone, users need to recharge with a minimum of Rs 1,500 per annum or Rs 4,500 over a period of 3 years in order to get eligible for a refund of Rs 1,500. If you buy a Karbonn A40 Indian, you need to make a down payment of Rs 2,899 for the 4G smartphone and make 36 continuous monthly recharges of Rs 169 to avail the cash refund. Airtel says customers will get a cash refund of Rs 500 after 18 months and another Rs 1,000 after 36 months. On Airtel, customers need to make mandatory recharges worth Rs 3,000 within the first 18 months and another Rs 3,000 over the next 18 months to claim the refund. This can be done through any recharge plan, not necessarily the Rs 169 plan recommended by Airtel.
With the JioPhone, customers will always remain locked into the Jio ecosystem, whereas the ownership of Karbonn A40 Indian remains with customers, and if the refund is not important for users, they can even switch to another network later on.
As far as tariffs are concerned, Airtel’s new Rs 169 plan offers 500MB of 3G/4G data per day and unlimited voice calling for 28 days. The plan counters the Rs 153 recharge pack for the JioPhone, offering free voice calls, unlimited data (1GB per day), free 300 SMS and Jio Apps.
Reliance Jio is going to revise its tariff plans on October 19. Before that, Jio is offering customers a special offer for Diwali named as “Jio Diwali Dhan Dhana Dhan offer”. Under this offer, Jio is offering 100% cashback on recharges of Rs. 399 made between October 12 and October 18.
Jio Diwali Dhan Dhana Dhan offer
The Rs.399 recharge will work as an advance recharge that will come into play once your current recharge has expired. Next, the 100% cashback will be awarded in the form of 8 vouchers worth Rs. 50 each. Customers will be able to redeem these vouchers one at a time, for recharges of Rs. 309 and above, or against data add-on plans of Rs. 91 and above. You can only redeem the vouchers after November 15.
The offers can be redeemed on the MyJio app, Jio.com, Reliance Digital stores, Jio stores, Jio’s partner retailers, and through services like JioMoney, PayTM, Amazon Pay, PhonePe, and Mobikwik.
Jio is also in the process of shipping its much talked about JioPhone to customers. The company told us earlier that the phones will be delivered to tier II and III cities first, followed by tier I addresses. The company has some competition in this space from Airtel, which announced a partnership with Karbonn.
Airtel announced the Karbonn A40 Indian smartphone, which is aimed at first-time smartphone buyers. The A40 Indian smartphone will be sold at an effective price of Rs. 1399.
